Tidy elves love SALT. Tasty? Sure, mixing using ½ cup of salt for every quart of hot water is an old-fashioned, green drain cleaner.

Making your bed every day is one small act, but it’s the single biggest thing you can do to make your bedroom look tidy in no time flat!

You know what’s METAL? Storage. Metal file sorters = great storage solutions for large, flat items like pizza pans and cutting boards. \m/

Tidy elves love olive oil for many reasons, but it makes a great, green stainless steel cleaner. Buff with a little oil, then polish with a paper towel.

CounterIntuitive: have your cake (stand) and eat it too - use a cake stand to keep your ingredients, such as salt and sugar. Clean countertops = sweet! 

Elves love PREPAREDNESS! Keep a portable emergency supplykit in YOUR CAR as well as your house in case you need to hoof it.

Don’t have a self-cleaning oven? Sprinkle baking soda inside, let it sit overnight, then apply a hefty amount of elbow grease!

Crown moldings dusty and out of reach? Cinch a microfiber cloth over a long-handled broom’s bristles and extend your reach. (Light saber noises optional.)

Retractable cords are great, except when they retract too soon (in which case I retract that statement). A clothespin, near the opening, keeps a cord extended.

I. AM. IRON. ELF. (In that I’m good at cleaning gunk off irons.) One way: roll a hot iron (no steam) over plain paper covered with salt.

Tidy elves save ENERGY – always remember to turn out lights during the day (use the sunlight) and whenever you leave a room!

Viva la Vinegar! Rusted nuts, bolts, or hinges? Nuts to that! Instead, dissolve rust by simmering in vinegar then rinsing with water.

A-tisket, a-tasket, nothing beats a basket…for keeping uncluttered shelves.  Keep loose, uncategorized items in pretty rattan baskets!

School daze? Enlist your elves with a point system. Award points for good morning behavior & catching the bus on time. Enough points = a treat!
